SENIOR heavy duty diesel mechanic
Pacific States Petroleum, Inc. is an employee owned and operated on-site fueling company servicing California. We are looking for a diesel mechanic to help maintain our fleet of trucks. This includes but is not limited to completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments, maintaining appropriate maintenance documentation.
Responsibilities
- Onsite repair maintenance including but not limited to pump repair and equipment maintenance
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion, and completing winterization procedures
- Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, and hydraulics
- Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements, BIT inspections and other maintenance
- Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, calling for repairs
- Contain costs be using warranty, evaluating service and parts options
- Keep supplies ready by taking inventory of stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications
Desired Qualifications
- Positive attitude
- Clean DMV and drug screen required
- Ability to function as part of a team
- Ability to determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests–identifying worn and damaged parts
- Light fabrication and equipment modification experience preferred
Education & Licensing
- 5+ years heavy duty diesel truck experience required
- Valid license required

Starting Pay: $40-$50/hour depending on experience
