Pacific States Petroleum, Inc. is an on-site fueling company servicing California and Reno, focusing on delivering products like diesel, unleaded, and propane. It all started in May of 2001 with one fuel truck, a small location in Pleasant Hill, and a big idea. The idea was to deliver smaller than usual quantities of fuel to customer locations while providing unparalleled customer service. We are looking for a Night Dispatcher to join our Dispatch Team. This position will be in our Sacramento location. You will report to the Operations Manager. 

Job Description

  • Determine routes for drivers and manage all routing modifications. Plans, distributes, monitors, and follows-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards. 
  • Coordinates daily operational with account managers.
  • Take incoming customer calls and communicate effectively with customers regarding service, issues, and requests. 
  • Manage a (5-10) group of drivers’ day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff that promotes a positive work environment.
  • Monitors driver and laborer time and attendance, minimizing overtime and ensuring that drivers do not exceed limits established by regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor and manage fuel prices and loading preferences. 
  • Promote and monitor safety by taking proactive steps for a positive safety culture. 
  • Organize and schedule all needed resources to accomplish daily activities.
  • Work to improve efficiency and productivity of driving staff. Insure drivers are trucks are being utilized for full days and full weeks.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting required for incentive pay programs. 
  • Documents problem fixes and provides instructions to dispatch/service should problems recur. 
  • Communicates and follows-up on sales opportunities, problems at customer site, DVIR repairs, and safety issues reported by drivers.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Class A or B Driver or as a dispatcher.
  • The ideal candidate should possess previous experience working in a high-pressure environment that operates with a sense of urgency. 
  • Must handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrate a high customer service commitment. Must be able to demonstrate professional phone etiquette. 
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly. 
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Knowledge of Sacramento an Central Valley Geography. 
Starting Pay: $70,000-$75,000 depending on experience.
